ExxonMobil's CEO Darren Woods said on Friday that the company will not shy away from pursuing opportunities in the Middle East despite its plans to diversify its production through liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.

The company is currently working on several LNG projects, including the Mozambique LNG project, which it hopes to make a final investment decision on later this year. It also expects to sanction its Papua New Guinea LNG project during the same period.

Woods stated that the Middle East remains an important source of natural gas for global energy markets and that ExxonMobil will continue to pursue opportunities in the region.
