ExxonMobil Force Majeure Threatens 200k Bpd Output from Nigeria's Erha Field

Nigeria's oil revenue and output are at risk after ExxonMobil declared force majeure on crude exports from its Erha deepwater field.

The declaration, which was made on July 8, threatens production of about 200,000 barrels per day, a significant blow to the country's daily crude oil output and export earnings.

EEPNL is actively working to restore export operations at the Erha Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, which was damaged due to unexpected equipment failure.

The disruption comes at a critical time for the Federal Government, which is banking on higher crude oil production to boost revenue, strengthen foreign exchange earnings, and fund key provisions of the 2026 budget.
