ExxonMobil Posts Record Q2 Earnings Amid Middle East Tensions
ExxonMobil's Q2 2026 earnings skyrocketed to $14.7 billion, a 67% quarter-on-quarter increase and more than double its Q2 2025 earnings.
The US oil major attributed the jump in profits to higher crude prices and improved refining margins following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
However, ExxonMobil narrowly missed Wall Street expectations as commodity price volatility and regional supply disruptions weighed on results.
Chief Financial Officer Neil Hansen explained that 'extreme swings' in commodity prices made it difficult for the company to model its earnings accurately.
