ExxonMobil Posts Record Q2 Earnings on Rising Oil Prices and Permian Output
ExxonMobil reported strong second-quarter earnings of $14.5 billion, up from $4.18 billion in the first quarter, driven by rising oil prices and record Permian basin production.
The company's adjusted upstream earnings rose to $9.19 billion due to increased output in the Permian region, where production has consistently grown at a 9% annual compound rate through 2030.
ExxonMobil also benefited from the absence of operational disruptions in Kazakhstan and a sharp turnaround in refining results.
The company's cash flow from operating activities was $23.6 billion in the quarter, while free cash flow reached $17.2 billion.
