Fedorchak Pushes for Year-Round E15 Amid Economic Benefits
North Dakota Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak hosted a roundtable discussion on the benefits of year-round E15 fuel sales at John Deere's Power Electronic Systems facility in Fargo, North Dakota. Fedorchak was joined by economists, farmers, and industry representatives to discuss the economic impact of year-round E15 and biofuels policy on state agriculture.
The event highlighted data demonstrating the role of North Dakota's corn and ethanol sectors. A joint study estimated that year-round E15 availability would add $25.8 billion to the U.S. economy and create 128,000 jobs. Fedorchak emphasized that year-round E15 would support good-paying jobs, strengthen American energy security, and give families a lower-cost choice at the pump.
North Dakota's corn industry generated an average of $7.3 billion annually in gross business volume from 2020 to 2022, supported nearly 19,000 jobs, produced $1.9 billion in labor income, and contributed nearly $160 million in state and local government revenue. The expansion of the ethanol market led farmers to plant an estimated 4.4 million acres of corn in 2026, up from 500,000 acres in 2005.
Attendees included representatives from John Deere, North Dakota State University, and various agricultural industry associations. Fedorchak toured the John Deere Fargo facility after the roundtable to inspect advanced electronic systems and agricultural technology manufactured at the site.
