FERC Greenlights Venture Global's CP2 LNG Expansion for Environmental Review
Venture Global's proposed expansion of the CP2 LNG export project has entered federal environmental review. This development could add significant capacity to the US liquefaction market, with peak liquefaction capacity potentially increasing by 11.7 million tons per year and natural gas transportation capacity rising by nearly 1.9 billion cubic feet per day.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has opened environmental scoping for the expansion, which is a crucial step in advancing the project. Comments on the proposal are due by September 11.
