Filipino Sailors Killed in Saudi Tanker Incident in Hormuz
Two Filipino sailors lost their lives in a security incident involving a Saudi oil tanker while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. The tanker, Sidr, was operated by Bahri, Saudi Arabia's national shipping company.
The incident occurred at around 11:40pm local time on Monday while the vessel was crossing the strategic waterway. According to Bahri, the two Filipino seafarers were killed as a result of this incident.
Bahri did not disclose the nature or cause of the incident but stated that it remained in contact with the vessel and was coordinating with relevant authorities and maritime industry stakeholders.
