Fire at Aramco's Jazan Refinery Quickly Extinguished
A fire broke out at Aramco's Jazan refinery in southwestern Saudi Arabia on Sunday, but firefighters were able to extinguish it quickly. According to the Saudi Energy Ministry, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
The ministry stated that Aramco's industrial security teams had brought the fire under control, and procedures were being completed to deal with the incident. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The Jazan refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produces refined products such as gasoline and ultra-light sulfur diesel. It was previously shut down on July 27 after an attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels damaged the plant's Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) complex and tank farm area.
