Florida Gas Prices Break Through $4 Per Gallon Barrier

Florida's gas prices have broken through the $4 per gallon barrier for the first time since June, according to AAA. The statewide average price is now at $4.14 a gallon, up by 23 cents in just one week and 19 cents from last month.

The highest average price in the state can be found in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area, where drivers are paying an average of $4.30 per gallon. This is significantly higher than the national average, which has been influenced by rising crude oil prices.

U.S. crude oil prices have surged nearly 20% over the past two weeks, from around $83 a barrel to above $100 a barrel. AAA says that this increase in oil costs is driving up gas prices, with Florida drivers now seeing the effects at the pump.
