Florida Gas Prices Soar to $4.14 Per Gallon Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions

Florida's gas prices have surged to $4.14 per gallon, up from $3.91 just a week ago, due to increased crude oil costs. The statewide average has risen by nearly 6% over the past two weeks, with U.S. crude prices increasing almost 20% during this period.

The spike in gas prices is largely attributed to heightened tensions in the Middle East, which have pushed up oil prices to more than $100 per barrel from about $83 per barrel just two weeks ago.

AAA's Mark Jenkins explained that the sharp rise in crude oil prices has caused gasoline production costs to increase, resulting in higher gas prices at the pump. If oil prices remain elevated, Florida drivers may face additional upward pressure on gas prices this week.
