Florida Gas Prices Surge Amid Declining Oil Costs

Florida's gas prices continued to fluctuate over the past week, increasing by 4 cents from $3.84 per gallon to $3.88 per gallon on Sunday, according to AAA.

This significant increase comes despite a decline in oil prices and gasoline futures, with the U.S. price of oil falling 8% last week and 13% over the past two weeks.

The statewide average remains well above year-ago levels, with drivers paying 81 cents more per gallon than at the same point in 2022.

South Florida continues to have some of the state's highest gasoline prices, with West Palm Beach-Boca Raton leading major metro areas at $4.04 per gallon, followed by Fort Lauderdale at $3.95 and Naples at $3.94.
