FortisBC is investing over $2 billion in the expansion of its Tilbury Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Facility in Delta, British Columbia. The move aims to meet growing demand for LNG marine fuelling services, which can reduce emissions by shifting away from traditional fuels like diesel.

The project will increase the facility's capacity and provide a cleaner alternative to traditional marine fuels. It also supports the Port of Vancouver as a leading LNG marine fuelling hub, positioning it in a growing global market.

FortisBC President and CEO Roger Dall'Antonia said, 'With this expansion, we will be able to produce more lower-carbon LNG to fuel the modern generation of ships visiting our coast.' Construction on the project could begin as early as mid-2027, with the facility in service by 2031.
