Franco-Nevada's Earnings Miss, But Analysts See Gold Price Surge Ahead
Franco-Nevada's Q2 earnings report showed mixed results. The company's revenue of $580.90 million came in short of expectations, and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.81 was below the forecasted $1.95.
However, year-over-year data revealed a significant improvement, with revenue up 57% and adjusted EPS up about 46%. This speaks to the company's high-margin, low-cost model that benefits from rising commodity prices.
The earnings report precedes gold's recent rebound, but analysts believe there is room for another substantial move higher. J.P. Morgan Global Research forecasts gold to average $6,000 per ounce in Q4 2026 and rise toward $6,300 per ounce by the end of 2027.
