Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged Despite Global Crude Decline
The global crude oil market experienced a slight decline in prices on August 24 due to concerns over US sanctions against Iran and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude fell by around 1.48%, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude decreased to USD 85.86 per barrel.
Despite this movement, Indian state-run oil marketing companies kept fuel prices unchanged across major cities on August 24. The latest petrol and diesel prices for the day were announced, with Delhi continuing to have different petrol prices depending on ethanol blends. E20 petrol, which contains 20% ethanol, was priced at Rs 102.12 per litre in Delhi.
LPG cylinder prices also remained unchanged in major cities, ranging from Rs 942 for a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in Mumbai to Rs 1,040 for the same quantity in Patna. CNG consumers in Delhi will continue to pay Rs 83.09 per kg.
