The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COPEC) has warned that sustained increases in global crude oil prices may lead to further hikes in fuel prices at the pumps. According to COPEC's CEO, Dr. Riverson Oppong, oil marketing companies have no choice but to pass on higher costs to consumers.

COCOP projects a 7.58% increase in petrol prices from August 1, 2026, while diesel prices are expected to record the steepest increase of about 12.50%. This development is attributed to the rising global crude oil prices.
