Fuel Supplies Remain Stable Amid West Asia Tensions
The Indian government has reported that fuel supplies are stable and there are no LPG shortages across the country, despite rising tensions in West Asia. According to an official statement, over 52.3 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered on April 11, with officials confirming that no 'dry-outs' have been reported at distributorships.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has urged citizens to avoid panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG, and instead rely on official updates while adopting energy conservation measures. The government has intensified enforcement to curb hoarding and black marketing, conducting over 2,700 raids nationwide.
Public sector oil marketing companies have imposed penalties on 219 LPG distributors and suspended 56 distributorships. Efforts are also underway to shift consumers towards alternative fuels, with more than 4.24 lakh PNG connections activated since March and over 4.66 lakh new registrations recorded.
