U.S. stock futures showed little movement on Thursday morning as investors struggled to balance upbeat corporate earnings against the backdrop of rising oil prices and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Oil remained choppy, trading in a narrow band after some earlier declines, but analysts suggest that the market is growing more resilient to the conflict's disruptions. As a result, Brent crude edged up slightly, potentially limiting further price spikes in the near term.
Government bond yields took a breather after a recent selloff, offering some relief to stocks that have been under pressure from rapidly climbing interest rates. The 10-year Treasury yield dipped modestly, signaling a pause in the bond market volatility that contributed to stock market unease in recent weeks.
However, tech heavyweight Broadcom (AVGO) saw a notable pre-market slide, dropping more than 2% after its fourth-quarter revenue guidance missed expectations. In contrast, Snowflake (SNOW) bucked the trend, surging nearly 24% following an optimistic annual revenue outlook.
