GAIL Ltd Surpasses Estimates with Strong Q1 Earnings
GAIL Ltd has reported impressive first-quarter earnings for FY27, exceeding estimates due to strong performance in natural gas trading and LPG & liquid HC segments. The company's standalone EBITDA came in at INR63.8 billion, a significant 86% above the estimated amount.
The operating loss of the petchem segment was lower than expected at INR1.2 billion, while the reported PAT stood significantly above estimates at INR42.9 billion (est.: INR20.7 billion). Other income also contributed to this surplus.
Management expects breakeven in FY27 for Pata, which has been operating at 100% utilization since mid-May '26. Natural gas transmission was strong at 122 million standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd) in 1QFY27, beating estimates by 4%. The company has also upgraded its FY27 transmission volume guidance to 123 mmscmd.
