GAIL Unveils Major Expansion Plans for Gas Pipelines and Fertilizers
GAIL (India) Limited has announced significant expansion plans for its natural gas pipeline network, LNG chartering, LPG distribution, and fertilizer manufacturing sectors.
The state-owned natural gas major aims to enhance national energy security while mitigating global geopolitical supply chain vulnerabilities.
GAIL's Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Gupta emphasized the importance of natural gas in India's energy transition.
The company plans to double LPG transmission capacity on its Jamnagar-Loni pipeline from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA, expand its LPG network by three additional pipelines, and invest ₹21,000 crore in two large-scale gas-based fertilizer plants in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
