Gas Prices Heat Up as Warm Weather Forecasts Spark Demand
Natural gas futures surged on Wednesday as warmer weather forecasts and lower production levels boosted demand.
The September contract jumped 9.6 cents to $2.866/MMBtu by midday, while October futures gained 8.8 cents to $2.909.
The price increase was driven by stronger LNG feedgas demand and a supply drop, which provided support for the September contract's penultimate session.
