Gas Prices Jump on Lean Storage Build
Natural gas futures advanced Thursday despite pulling back from earlier highs around midday. The lean storage build, including a hefty South Central salt withdrawal and stronger LNG feedgas, kept prices supported.
September futures rose 4.6 cents to $2.888/MMBtu around 11:45 a.m. ETOctober gains were even higher at 5.4 cents to $2.928 as trading shifted to the new prompt month.
