Gas Supply Crisis Set to End Soon in Bangladesh, Says State Minister

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit has assured that gas supply in Bangladesh will be normalized soon. Speaking at a view-sharing meeting in Jashore on Saturday afternoon, he explained that a temporary disruption in the national gas grid was caused by a technical fault.

Amit said that imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) is being converted into gas through two Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) before being supplied to the national grid. However, technical problems had occurred at one FSRU, and a private company and Petrobangla are working together to repair it.

The state minister emphasized that gas supply would return to normal soon, and pressure at power plants, industries, households, and CNG filling stations would gradually improve.
