Gas Supply to Be Normalized Soon, Says Bangladesh State Minister
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit assured that gas supply will be normalized soon. A technical fault in one of the country's two Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) has caused a temporary disruption in the national gas grid.
The FSRU is used to convert imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) into gas before it is supplied to the national grid. The government is working with a private company and Petrobangla to repair the unit, which will restore normal gas supply to power plants, industries, households, and CNG filling stations.
The state minister emphasized that the energy department is monitoring the situation around the clock. He also highlighted the importance of moral education in curbing the spread of rumors and misinformation on social media.
