GasLog LNG Vessel Stable After Incident in Strait of Hormuz
A Greek shipping company, GasLog, has confirmed that its liquefied natural gas vessel, Gaslog Shanghai, is stable after an incident in the Strait of Hormuz. The ship was carrying a cargo of LNG from Qatar's Ras Laffan export terminal when it encountered issues on July 31.
GasLog reported that everyone on board the vessel is safe and accounted for, but declined to provide further details about the nature of the incident or any potential damage to the ship or its cargo.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical shipping route for oil and LNG exports from Gulf producers, with nearly a fifth of global LNG passing through it. The waterway has been subject to disruptions in recent months, including a reported projectile strike on an LNG tanker on July 7.
