Gaslog Shanghai LNG Vessel Navigates Incident in Strait of Hormuz

A Greek shipping company's liquefied natural gas vessel, Gaslog Shanghai, safely exited the Strait of Hormuz after an incident on July 31. The ship was carrying a cargo loaded at Qatar's Ras Laffan export terminal from July 27-28.

According to ship-tracking data, the Gaslog Shanghai reappeared outside the waterway on August 2 and is now off Oman's Musandam Peninsula. The company stated that an 'incident' occurred but did not provide details or confirm whether the vessel or its cargo sustained any damage.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical shipping route for oil and LNG exports from Gulf producers, with nearly a fifth of global LNG passing through it.
