Gazprom Boosts Gas Supplies to Central Asia by Nearly 70%

Russian gas giant Gazprom has significantly increased its supplies to Central Asian countries this year. Since the start of 2026, Gazprom has boosted gas deliveries to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan by nearly 70%, according to Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom.

The increase is most notable in Uzbekistan, where Gazprom supplied 6.48 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025, up 15% from the previous year. This marks a significant shift for Uzbekistan, which became a net importer of natural gas in 2023 when it began purchasing gas from Gazprom.

Gazprom also supplies gas to consumers in Kazakhstan's West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Aktobe regions, with Russian gas deliveries increasing in line with the country's growing demand. Plans are underway to provide gas to Kazakhstan's northern regions as well.
