Gazprom Raises Bosnia Gas Price by Over 14% Amid Pipeline Plans

Russia's Gazprom Export has raised the price of natural gas supplied to Energoinvest by 14.42% for the third quarter, according to Bosnian Minister of Energy Vedran Lakić.

This price hike comes as authorities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina plan to build a new 'Southern Interconnection' gas pipeline, which will transport gas from Croatia's liquefied natural gas terminal on the island of Krk.

Energoinvest supplies gas to the Federation, while Gaz-Res imports gas for Republika Srpska. The Republika Srpska has negotiated a one-year extension of its agreement with Gazprom and will continue to receive gas at 'preferential prices,' though no details have been disclosed.

The increase in gas price is estimated at around 14.42% for the third quarter, with annual payments to Gazprom totaling approximately 75 million euros.
