Gazprom Reiterates Plans for Belarus LNG Plant

Gazprom has not abandoned its plans to build an LNG plant in Belarus, according to Denis Moroz, Minister of Energy. Work on the project continues, with discussions ongoing about the location for the plant.

The agreement to construct the plant was signed in 2023 at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. However, implementation was delayed due to a lack of necessary legislation, which it was proposed to address by locating the enterprise in the China-Belarus Industrial Park 'Great Stone'.

The planned capacity of the complex is estimated at 3360 tons of LNG, with the main consumers expected to be MAZ and BelAZ machinery. Additionally, LNG would be used for refueling vehicles on the M-1 highway.
