Georgia Gas Prices Soar Amid Crude Oil Price Hike
Georgia drivers are facing higher gas prices due to rising crude oil costs. The statewide average for regular unleaded gasoline is now $3.92, a 15-cent increase from last week and 31 cents higher than a month ago.
The national average has also reached $4.11 per gallon, up from $3.99 the previous week. AAA's Montrae Waiters attributed the price surge to ongoing uncertainty in global energy markets, specifically the Strait of Hormuz and regional instability.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), crude oil prices are the main factor affecting gasoline costs. The EIA also noted that strong demand for petroleum products can put pressure on available supplies, contributing to price fluctuations.
