Georgia Gas Prices Start to Decline After Weeks of Increases
Georgia drivers are finally seeing some relief at the pump after weeks of rising gas prices. According to AAA, the state average for regular gasoline has dropped to $3.78 per gallon, which is a significant decrease from recent benchmarks. The current price is 11 cents lower than last month and 88 cents higher than last year.
The decline in gas prices can be attributed to lower demand and strong refinery production, which have boosted fuel supplies and eased pressure on prices. However, AAA warns that drivers shouldn't get comfortable just yet as crude oil prices remain elevated, and continued geopolitical uncertainty could quickly put upward pressure on gasoline prices.
While the recent decline is encouraging, it's essential to note that pump prices remain stubbornly high nationwide. The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline dipped only 2 cents this week to $4.07, and overall price relief remains limited due to ongoing volatility in the Strait of Hormuz.
