Georgia Gas Prices Surge After Labor Day
Georgia drivers are facing higher gas prices after Labor Day as crude oil costs remain above $100 per barrel. According to AAA, The Auto Club Group, the state average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline has increased by 48 cents from its record high set in June 2022.
The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has also risen by 17 cents over the past week, reaching $4.31. This surge is putting upward pressure on pump prices despite a decline in gasoline demand during this time of year.
Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA, The Auto Club Group, advised drivers to shop around for gas prices and consider using cash instead of credit cards, as some retailers charge extra per gallon for customers who use a credit card.
