Georgia Gas Prices Surge Amid Crude Oil Price Spike

Gas prices in Georgia are increasing once again after the Labor Day holiday. The state average has risen to $4.01 per gallon, which is a 48-cent decrease from the record high of $4.49 per gallon set in June 2022.

According to AAA - The Auto Club Group, rising crude oil prices are driving fuel costs higher. With oil above $100 per barrel, there's no clear indication of when gas prices may decline or how high they could go.

Compared to recent benchmarks, Georgia drivers are paying 12 cents more than last week and 20 cents more than last month. The national average has also increased by 17 cents in the past week, reaching $4.31 per gallon.
