Germany Ditches Gas Storage Intervention Plan for Winter
The German government has ruled out intervening in its gas storage facilities to accelerate filling before next winter.
Ministry of Economy officials estimate that available reserves, combined with imports via pipelines and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, will meet forecast demand during the winter months.
Gas storage in Germany currently stands at between 60% and 70% capacity, a significant difference from recent years, when it was higher. This year's reserves are the lowest recorded for September 1 in 15 years.
