Germany's Gas Reserves Seen Sufficient for Winter

Germany's gas reserves are sufficient to meet the country's needs during the winter, according to Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency. The current storage levels exceed those of the previous winter season, with more than 136 terawatt-hours (TWh) stored and facilities over 55% full.

This exceeds the nearly 134 TWh withdrawn from storage throughout the entire previous winter season, Müller said. There is still time for further injections in the coming weeks to bolster supplies, he added.

The country now has liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals operating at around 45% of capacity, alongside pipeline supplies from Norway, allowing additional volumes to be imported rapidly if needed.
