The Petroleum Commission of Ghana and Uganda's Petroleum Authority deepened their cooperation in oil exploration and production during a meeting. The Ghanaian side shared its experience in regulating oil activities, including legal frameworks, cost control, occupational health and safety, environmental standards, investment attraction, and local business participation.

According to Emeafa Hardcastle, CEO of the Ghana Petroleum Commission, the meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to learn from each other's experiences and improve oil resource management. The Ghanaian side emphasized its readiness to share expertise gained during its transition from exploration and field development to commercial production.

Uganda's Petroleum Authority is seeking to use the experience of countries that have already gone through the stages of exploration, field development, and production. This is particularly important for Uganda as it approaches its first oil production.
