Commodity trading giant Glencore expects to post a profit of $3.3 billion in its marketing division for the first half of the year, thanks to extreme market volatility during the Iran war.

The company's marketing segment, which includes oil trading, is expected to report adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of about $3.3 billion for the period.

This profit far surpasses Glencore's full-year EBIT in the marketing division for 2025, which was $2.9 billion.

The market volatility of the past five months has put Glencore's trading profit on track for its best year ever if energy markets continue to whipsaw in the coming months.
