Global Cues to Dominate Indian Equity Markets This Week
The Indian equity markets are expected to remain sensitive to global developments this week. The Federal Reserve's minutes of its July policy meeting, due on August 19, will be closely watched for signals on the US central bank's stance on interest rates.
Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President-Research at Religare Broking, said that developments around the Strait of Hormuz and the trajectory of Brent crude will remain critical market drivers in the near term. He added that global monetary policy expectations, crude prices, and geopolitical developments will be at the centre of market attention.
The US-Iran standoff and movements in foreign institutional investment could also influence market momentum amid heightened global uncertainty. With the quarterly earnings season largely out of the way, investors are likely to track global cues for fresh market direction.
