Global Gold and Silver Prices See Volatile Week Amid Market Fluctuations
Gold and silver prices were volatile in both international and Pakistani markets during the week of July 26 to August 1, 2026.
International gold started at $4,052 per ounce but ended at $4,041, showing a weekly decline of $11 or approximately 0.27%. In contrast, Pakistani gold prices increased by only Rs. 500 during the week, opening at Rs. 429,000 and closing at Rs. 429,500 per tola.
Silver was also affected, with international prices moving from $58.1 per ounce on July 26 to $57.5 per ounce on August 1, recording a weekly decline of $0.6 or around 1.03%. In Pakistan, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs. 6,250 per tola throughout the week.
The biggest price movements were observed in gold, which fluctuated between its weekly high of $4,110 and low of $4,009 on July 30 and 29 respectively. Silver's weekly high was also seen on July 30 at $58.6 per ounce, matching its highest point for the week.
