Global Markets Rise as Corporate Earnings Boost US Stocks
Stock markets in Asia and Europe rose on Wednesday after the US stock market hit fresh records due to strong corporate earnings reports.
The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 0.2%, while Germany's DAX rose 0.3% and Britain's FTSE 100 was up 0.2%.
Oil prices also increased, with Brent crude gaining over 1% to $80.45 per barrel.
Astris Advisory Japan's head of strategy Neil Newman said the market is rallying on the back of AI stocks, particularly chipmakers and other AI-related companies.
However, some shares declined due to concerns about inflation and profit margins, such as Chipotle Mexican Group which fell 9.7% after removing jalapeños from some restaurants.
