Global Markets Surge as Middle East Tensions Ease and Oil Prices Fall
The global financial markets are experiencing a positive trend due to signs of de-escalation in the Middle East and falling oil prices. Brent crude has dropped to around $90, while Asian stock markets are mostly higher with a focus on the Chinese phenomenon CXMT.
CXMT, a Chinese memory chip maker, debuted in Shanghai with a 500% gain after raising $8.6 billion in Asia's largest initial public offering (IPO) this year. The company's market value has surpassed that of Intel and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
The good mood spread globally as S&P 500 futures rose 0.8%, Nasdaq futures jumped 1.3%, and Eurostoxx 50 futures gained 1%. Nvidia is investing $250 billion in OpenAI, while investors are cautiously optimistic about AI stocks despite concerns about huge capital investments.
Central banks will also be under scrutiny this week as the Federal Reserve, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan hold monetary policy meetings. The Fed's decision on interest rates could influence global markets, but a rate hike is not expected.
