The report from the International Gas Union (IGU) and Snam found that global supply rose by 52 billion cubic meters, with North America leading the increase at 54 bcm.
On the demand side, Asia recorded the largest growth in natural gas consumption, increasing by 25 bcm. Europe saw a rise of around 10 bcm, while Oceania was the only region to experience a decline in demand.
The report highlighted that residential and commercial consumption accounted for 64% of Asia's total natural gas demand growth, with much of the increase concentrated in East and Southeast Asia.
