Global Oil Prices Slip from Two-Week High Amid Reassessments
Global crude oil prices have taken a hit, dropping from their two-week high after markets reassessed the impact of US sanctions on Iran. Brent crude futures are now trading near $89 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures have slipped to around $83.
The price decline is largely driven by traders interpreting recent geopolitical news as economic measures rather than an immediate threat to physical oil supply.
For India, lower oil prices are generally viewed as a positive development, easing pressure on the import bill and domestic inflation. However, markets remain cautious due to ongoing global tensions.
