Global Trends Lift Ireland's Oilseed Rape Crop Outlook

Global market trends are boosting Ireland's oilseed rape crop outlook for 2027. The Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board (AHDB) reports that global oilseed prices have risen recently due to concerns over Black Sea and US soybean crops.

The rise in global prices is driven by supply and demand factors, with the USDA reducing its home-grown soybean crop condition scores since September. As of August 30, 58% of US soybeans were in good or excellent condition, down from 60% a week earlier than expected.

Global crops are also being affected by European Commission estimates, which have cut Ireland's rapeseed crop estimate for 2026 to 19.4Mt due to lower area estimates. This is below last year's crop.
