Golar LNG Lands $600 Million Loan to Fuel FLNG Expansion
Golar LNG, a Bermuda-headquartered company that owns and operates liquefied natural gas (LNG) midstream infrastructure, has secured a $600 million senior secured revolving credit facility to fuel its floating LNG (FLNG) expansion.
The facility was backed by a consortium of banks, including ABN AMRO, Citibank, Danske Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank. The credit is secured by Golar's investment in the MKII FLNG currently being converted in China for a 20-year contract with Southern Energy S.A. (SESA) in Argentina.
The combined capacity of the two FLNGs, including the Hilli Episeyo and the soon-to-be-delivered MK II, will be approximately 6 million tonnes per year once they start commercial operations in late 2028.
