Gold and Silver Prices May Soften Before Year-End Strengthening
CPM Group, a financial services company, has released an update on the precious metals market. According to the report, gold and silver prices may soften in the first two or three weeks of August, but are expected to strengthen by the end of the year.
The firm's analysis notes that gold traded near $4,138 during a recent morning session, which could be its near-term peak. Jeffrey Christian of CPM Group explained that gold and silver may face short-term pressure due to the August COMEX gold futures roll, but are expected to recover by the final four months of 2026.
The report also reviews COMEX gold inventories, finding no evidence of an imminent shortage, contrary to recent claims. Silver continues to trade around $60 per ounce. Platinum and palladium remain weaker than gold and silver, according to CPM Group's update.
