The current gold prices have seen an increase of ₹19,000 this year so far. On December 31, 2025, the price of 10 grams of gold was ₹1.33 lakh; it has now risen to ₹1.52 lakh. Silver, on the other hand, stood at ₹2.30 lakh per kg on the same date but has fallen to around ₹2.29 lakh.
The IBJA also highlights that gold prices have fluctuated throughout 2026, with a peak of ₹1.76 lakh and silver reaching ₹3.86 lakh on January 29. The association emphasizes the importance of buying certified gold bearing the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) hallmark, cross-checking the price from multiple sources, and being aware of making charges.
