Gold and Silver Prices Plunge Ahead of Jackson Hole Economic Symposium
Gold and silver prices dropped on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday as markets awaited remarks from U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole economic symposium.
The MCX silver futures for September 2026 delivery fell by Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,39,460 per kg, while gold futures for October 2026 delivery dropped by Rs 750 to Rs 1,58,252 per 10 grams.
Gold has slipped Rs 5,000/10 grams in the past four sessions. The Fed officials voiced concerns over U.S. inflation outlook on Thursday, ahead of Warsh's remarks, which are closely watched for signals on the central bank's monetary policy outlook.
