Gold and Silver Prices Rise for Third Straight Day
International gold and silver prices rose for the third consecutive trading day on Friday. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, December gold futures increased by 2.39% to settle at $4,680.60 per ounce. Silver futures for September delivery gained 2.09% to close at $69.53 per ounce.
The gains in gold and silver prices came as European stocks closed higher across the board on Friday. The UK's FTSE 100 index rose 0.64%, while France's CAC 40 index gained 0.37%. Germany's DAX index jumped 0.59% to end the session.
