Gold and silver prices have surged to new record levels in India ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival. According to the latest data from Punjab Kesari English, 24-carat gold has crossed the ₹1.64 lakh mark per 10 grams, while silver has touched ₹2,60,000 per kilogram.

The rally follows a strong session on August 24, when gold reached a three-month high of ₹1,63,500 per 10 grams in Delhi's bullion market. Market analysts believe that falling bond yields and rising demand for safe-haven assets are supporting higher gold and silver prices.

Bullion prices have witnessed a strong rally this week, with 24-carat gold gaining more than ₹8,250 per 10 grams in just a week, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA).
