Gold and Silver Prices Surge in Futures Trade

Gold prices surged on Thursday in futures trade on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), rising Rs 1,029 to Rs 1,53,431 per 10 grams for October delivery. Analysts attributed the increase to fresh positions built up by market participants.

The gold contract saw a business turnover of 2,467 lots. The international market saw gold futures fall 0.89% to USD 4,420.49 per ounce in New York.

Silver prices also advanced, rising Rs 1,862 or 0.79%, to Rs 2,38,128 per kg for December delivery on the MCX. The silver contract recorded a business turnover of 2,445 lots.
